Afterward, we will depart up the Inírida River to the Cerros de Mavecure, impressive rocks in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, bordered by the winding river. We will arrive at the indigenous community of El Venado where we will find our camp with comfortable malokas typical of the indigenous culture, perfectly located in the middle of the three hills on the banks of the Inirida River. They have beds, a camping area and a hammock area, permanent solar energy, bathrooms and changing rooms for ladies and gentlemen, a kitchen, a dining room, a beach, a rock slab, a star viewing area, and large gardens. Depending on the weather, we will begin our ascent of Pajarito Hill. Upon descent, we will head to the camp to take a quick bath and have dinner. Bonfire, canelazo, and stars.
Very early in the morning (5:00 a.m.), after a light breakfast and under the guidance of our indigenous guide, we will climb Cerro Mavecure or Cerro Pajarito (depending on what we did the day before), then return, have breakfast, and head to the cold waters of Caño San Joaquin, colored red by the tannins from the leaves of the jungle trees, to take a bath and return to our camp for lunch. Afterwards, we will begin our trip to the city of Inírida, with a short stop in the community of La Ceiba where we will have the opportunity to purchase handicrafts and learn about the Angelita bee community project and the mouth of the Caño Matraca, as well as observe the toninas or freshwater dolphins.
At the end of the afternoon, we will return to the city of Inírida. Dinner (7:00 p.m.) and night at the Toninas Hotel.
After breakfast (7:00 a.m.), we will visit the Inírida flower trails and the Kenke ethnocultural and ecological park, where we will see this invaluable endemic resource in its natural state, protected by an indigenous family proud of their roots. With their warmth and love for their land, they will tell us about their environment, culture, customs, and cuisine. We will have lunch at the hotel and begin our journey back to the city of Bogotá.
